Higher Images Looks Forward to Pittsburgh’s Web Design Day 2016News
23 Jun
Tomorrow marks Pittsburgh’s 8th Web Design Day, and Higher Images is getting ready for another great chapter in Pittsburgh design history. For those who are unaware, Web Design Day is a city-wide conference focusing on web design, development, and project management. Several industry leaders come into our city and present the latest techniques so that we can create exciting websites for our clients. This year’s headliners include Jen Simmons, a graphic design and new-tech expert; Karen McGrane, a content specialist, and Eric Meyer, leading CSS developer, among other luminaries.
“Having web design day locally is important because it shows that Pittsburgh is a leader in web design. Not many cities have a meeting focused on one specific area of technology. It shows what a great place Pittsburgh is for web design businesses,” says Higher Images President Bryan Thornberg.
When asked about weighing time out of the office with ongoing education, Mr. Thornberg was clear to state the importance of this event: “Ongoing education is essential to this industry. If we are not staying on top of the latest trends, we are doomed to fall behind the competition.” Higher Images staff uses Web Design Day as a way to learn about new technology, and also trade great ideas with other developers in the area.
“It is important for our staff to go to Web Design Day to help them grow as designers and developers. It’s also a chance for them to learn about the latest technologies and upcoming trends. As the leading web design company in Pittsburgh, it will ensure that we stay on the leading edge without being on the bleeding edge,” CTO Craig Hodgkins says.
Designer Alex Hepler looks forward to learning more about the latest web design and graphic design techniques.
The Higher Images Design and Development Team Prepare for Another Web Design Day.
“I am looking forward to learning about the latest techniques in user experience design, design testing, and analytics.
As a graphic designer, it is important to keep learning what is new when creating user interfaces and user experiences,” she says.
Higher Images Project Manager Robin Dugas is excitedly preparing for her first Web Design Day.
“As project manager, I’m always looking for ways to streamline processes and to get things done more efficiently. I am looking forward to hearing Kate Daly’s presentation in particular, because she’s an expert on organizing and development,” she says.
This year’s event marks Austin Roat’s third Web Design Day. He says: “We have learned so much at Web Design Day in years past. Our move to 100% responsive web design grew out of what we learned at Web Design Day. At this year’s event, I am hoping to learn where the industry is going to be in three years and work toward creating that future. Mobile integration is still top of mind, and I hope to pick up a few new tricks along the way this year.”
If you don’t already have tickets for the event; sorry it is already sold out for 2016. If you already planned on attending, we hope to meet you all there!
